The Ryan brothers — Rex and Rob — will spend their Thanksgivings doing what they love the most. Rex Ryan and the New York Jets face Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, while Rob Ryan and his Dallas Cowboys defense face rookie sensation Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins.
Leading up to the game, Rob Ryan let the cat out of the bad and gave away his very simple strategy for beating RG3 and the Redskins — hit him. Hit him hard.
That’s right. On this day of thanks and giving, Ryan plans on welcoming the rookie to the NFC East by giving him one of the most physical games that he has played — now that is love.
“The big thing is we have to hit these guys hard,” Ryan said. “That’s the big thing. We have big football players out there on defense and we plan on hitting them hard. And that’s what is going to happen. Hopefully he will have a bad Thanksgiving.”
Ryan does have respect for the rookie signal-caller, but that won’t stop him from making sure the Dallas Cowboys defense give this game their all.
“He is a special player,” Ryan said. “That’s why they traded half a team to get him. Obviously, he’s a tremendous athlete and they say he is a hell of a kid. I don’t like him, but I know he is very talented. This game looks like it’s in slow-motion for him already and hopefully we speed it up a whole lot this week.”
If Ryan and the Cowboys can execute his plan, they will bring the Robert Griffin III hype train to a screeching halt.
