The Arkansas Razorbacks have one of the most attractive head coaching openings in college football and according to a rumor making the rounds, they could be ready to make a big splash by poaching from a fellow member of the Southeastern Conference.
Representatives from the University of Arkansas have allegedly had contract negotiations with current LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles, according to Sports by Brooks.
It is rumored that the Razorbacks have a five-year, $27.5 million deal on the table for Miles.
LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette caught wind of the rumor and refused to comment on the allegations.
“We’ve seen the tweet by Sports by Brooks and we’re not going to comment on rumors or bits of information,” Bonnette said. “It has been brought to Les’ attention and he didn’t have anything to say.”
Miles’ agent, George Bass, was reached for comment and said, “There’s nothing like that going on,” according to Tom Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette.
It is very unlikely that Miles would leave a program like LSU for the struggling Razorbacks program, but if any of the rumors are true it could turn in to a situation to watch. Fortunately for Tigers fans, you can breath a sigh of relief. It doesn’t appear that any of the predictions from Sports by Brooks will come to fruition.
