As details surrounding the Jovan Belcher murder-suicide tragedy that led to the Kansas City Chiefs facility on Saturday morning, there are some troubling reports that remind you how many innocent lives were affected.

Belcher murdered his 22-year-old girlfriend at their home before taking his own life at the team’s facility.

Captain David Lindaman of the Kansas City Police Department confirmed that Belcher killed his girlfriend in front of her mother, who was visiting the couples three-month old daughter. The girlfriend’s mother was not hurt during the incident.

The real tragedy here is that an innocent three-month old child is now left without her parents just weeks before her very first Christmas. It truly is a tragic tale.

Again, thoughts and prayers go out to the girlfriend’s family, Belcher’s family and the entire Chiefs organization.
