The details of Saturday’s brutal murder-suicide in Kansas City are still trickling in, but in the aftermath of such a horrific event the question of why is being asked and the Kansas City Star is offering up a potential reason.
According to a source in the Kansas City Star, Belcher confronted his girlfriend Kassandra Perkins when she arrived home late from a Trey Songz concert she had been attending that night at the Midland.
From the Kansas City Star:
According to a friend of Kasandra Perkins, the woman killed today by Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, the couple argued in the early morning hours after the woman was out late attending Friday’s Trey Songz concert at The Midland.
The friend, who asked not to be identified, said Belcher confronted Perkins when she returned home about 1 a.m
Perkins was a 22 year old student at Blue River Community College, and was working towards one day becoming a teacher. Perkins was introduced to Belcher by the girlfriend of another Chiefs player, and the two began dating shortly after that.
The argument over Perkins late arrival from the concert preceded her eventual murder by some hours, but it’s a significant piece of the confusing puzzle at the moment. There was no reported incidents of domestic violence prior to Perkins murder, this according to both family, friends and the Kansas City Police Department.
