The Vanderbilt Commodores will be playing a bowl game in their backyard for the second time in four years. It’s the first time in school history that the Commodores have made a bowl game in back-to-back seasons. Vanderbilt will travel just a few miles to LP Field on December 31st to face off against the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the Music City Bowl.
In Vanderbilt’s previous Music City Bowl appearance in 2008, they were victorious over Boston College by a score of 16-14.
North Carolina State will be playing without their former head coach Tom O’Brien and they will also be without newly hired head coach Dave Doeren. Instead, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dana Bible will lead the Wolfpack as they hope to take down their SEC opponent.
