Multiple reports are indicating that Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville has stepped down from his position with the Red Raiders football program and will be taking over as the head coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Tuberville has a strong connection with the Bearcats program.

He is very close to Cincinnati athletic director Whit Babcock, who served as the assistant athletic director of the Auburn Tigers when Tuberville was the coach.

During his seventeen year coaching career, Tuberville has earned a 130-77 record with Ole Miss, Auburn and Texas Tech.

When Tuberville begins to build his staff, a name to watch is Bobby Petrino. Reports indicate Petrino could join Tuberville in Cincinnati as the offensive coordinator if he does not land a head coaching gig.
