The big story coming into the Browns-Redskins matchup was the fact that Robert Griffin III would not be starting and instead Kirk Cousins was getting the nod. But what people are over looking is the fact that while the Browns aren’t any good this season, they’ve made some good teams look as bad as they are.
Case in point: Trent Richardson’s first touchdown of the day.
After the Browns defense intercepted Kirk Cousins, the offense took it down inside Redskins territory where the rookie Richardson did the rest. Not only did he barrel into the endzone, not only did he truck a few Redskins on his way there but he carried five of them along with the football into the endzone for the score and the early lead.
The question now is, can the Browns hang on to pull off the trap game win over the Redskins. There has been a lot of attention spent on Kirk Cousins starting over the injured Robert Griffin III, with Cousins impressing in his helping of the Redskins comeback win over the Ravens last week.
It’s bee a rough start for the Redskins so far, but if you’re a fan of the Browns it’s obvious that Trent Richardson is something to be very excited about moving forward, as clearly nothing can stand in the rookie’s way.
