The NFL Draft may be months away, and there is still two games left in the season, but the field of teams hunting for playoff spots is thinning and as each minute of the season passes, more and more teams are shifting into draft prep mode. Here’s a quick look at what the NFL Draft would look like if the season ended today:

Picks 1-15

1. Chiefs 2 12 0 2 14 0 50% 86% 14% < 1% < 1% < 1% < 1% 0% 0%
2. Jaguars 2 12 0 2 14 0 54% 14% 83% 2% 1% < 1% < 1% 0% 0%
3. Eagles 4 10 0 4 12 0 51% < 1% 1% 30% 33% 13% 11% 6% 3%

5. Browns 5 9 0 5 11 0 50% 0% 0% < 1% 6% 22% 27% 14% 10%
6. Titans 4 9 0 5 11 0 52% < 1% < 1% 4% 8% 8% 13% 17% 11%
7. Lions 4 10 0 5 11 0 56% < 1% < 1% 9% 25% 19% 11% 14% 10%
8. Chargers 5 9 0 6 10 0 46% X X 1% 7% 11% 10% 12% 19%

11. Cardinals 5 9 0 6 10 0 56% X X < 1% < 1% 1% 5% 14% 18%
12. Buccaneers 6 8 0 7 9 0 50% X X < 1% < 1% < 1% < 1% 2% 6%
13. Dolphins 6 8 0 7 9 0 51% X X < 1% < 1% < 1% < 1% < 1% 2%
14. Saints 6 8 0 7 9 0 52% X X < 1% < 1% < 1% < 1% < 1% < 1%
15. Rams 6 7 1 7 8 1 53% X X X X X < 1% < 1% < 1%

Right now it’s a battle between the Jaguars and Chiefs for the No. 1 pick in the draft. If the Chiefs get it, they’re going to stay put but there’s a pretty likely chance that if the Jaguars get the pick they’ll trade down and try to stockpile picks like the Rams did last season. Both teams are looking at losses next week as the Jaguars get a fiery Patriots team and the Chiefs get the Colts, who are looking to clinch a playoff berth. In the final week Kansas City gets a Broncos team that could be fighting for a first round bye and the Jaguars get a winnable game against the Titans.

So it’s looking pretty certain that the Chiefs will be picking No. 1 come April, but stranger things have happened.
