So this is it folks, the end of humanity as we know it. Despite scientific fact that the world won’t actually end for another 5 billion years, the crazies in the tin hats have gotten us all riled up once again. It’s December 22nd in Australia at the moment, thusly proving that the Mayan calendar stuff was all a bunch of needless worrying by people that skipped their meds. But while it may not be the end of humanity, there is still an Armageddon on the horizon, because as we march closer to the end of the season, the line for the NFL coaching gallows is getting longer by the minute.

Who will survive the coaching and front office apocalypse and who will fall victim? Let’s take a look:

Norv Turner/A.J. Smith – San Diego Chargers

This one has been on the wall for a while now, and I’m not talking about the little bit of news regarding his fate that was “leaked” a few weeks ago. Norv Turner has managed to dip, dodge, duck and dive out of the way when it comes to getting the axe. He’s not done any better than his predecessor Marty Schottenheimer but yet he’s still managing to be on the Chargers sideline from year to year.

Not anymore. People have been calling for Turner’s head for a while now, dating back to the last time the Chargers were relevant and Turner was the face of the self-destruction. While A.J. Smith deserves a majority of the blame for why the Chargers aren’t any good, Turner was supposed to take San Diego to the next level, not make them regret more and more the firing of Schottenheimer.
