The Brooklyn Nets have been on a losing streak since getting off to an 11-4 start this season. Now, after losing 10 of 13 games in December, the Nets have been forced to pull the trigger and fire head coach Avery Johnson.

With Johnson out, assistant coach P.J. Carlesimo has been promoted to interim head coach. Carlesimo was previously a head coach with Portland, Golden State and Oklahoma City.

Since being named the Nets head coach in 2010, Avery has a record of 60-116.
