The Clemson Tigers offense lost a dynamic threat when star wide receiver Sammy Watkins went down with a right leg injury. Watkins received a hand off on Clemson’s first play from scrimmage and took a devastating blow from LSU Tigers defensive end Barkevious Mingo.

Watkins was helped off the field by the training staff and he was unable to put any weight on his injured right leg.

Once he made it to the sideline, Watkins was carted back to the locker room for x-rays with a towel covering his head. Reports have come back that Watkins x-rays were negative and his injury is being classified as a “badly sprained” ankle.

Clemson has got things rolling since Watkins left the game, but there is no question the high-powered offense will miss his presence on the field.
