The Alabama Crimson Tide will open the 2015 college football season at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas in the Cowboys Classic. Since 2009, the Cowboys Classic puts together non-conference opponents in clash to start the year.

It will be Alabama’s second year in the game. This season, the Crimson Tide thrashed the Michigan Wolverines, 41-14, to start their journey to the national title game.

But who will be Alabama’s opponent for 2015?

Reports are indicating the Crimson Tide will face off against Wisconsin Badgers in the 2015 Cowboys Classic. A formal agreement has not yet been reached, but the two sides have reportedly agreed to meet in the game.

If the Alabama – Wisconsin game does become official, it will only be the second time the two sides have matched up against each other on the gridiron. The first meeting between ‘Bama and Wisconsin came all the way back in 1928. Alabama fell to the Badgers, 15-0.

Regardless of whether or not Alabama – Wisconsin becomes official is yet to be seen, but if officials confirm the match up, it will be the Crimson Tides second marquee out-of-conference game at Cowboys Stadium to kick off their season.

Now if they’ll only get rid of the FCS and Sun Belt teams on their schedule.

Those games must serve some purpose, since very few FBS teams, played in the same season have been able to beat them. When you play in a conference like the SEC, you need a few easy games to play.

Ha-ha, we’ll see about that. Once the game is finalized, Bama’s got a problem.

        • RedandBlackDAWG

I guess it doesn’t hurt that Notre Dame plays those big team like the Naval Academy either. Every FBS team out there plays some patsies each season. It affords the lower team a chance to make some decent money and gives the bigger team a chance to try out a few things, they might want to use later in games that are more important. As for Alabama having a problem. Since they have already won 2 of the BCS NC’s in the short life of this format and are vying for a third, You might want to consider who will have the problem, on BCSCG day.

Love playing at Cowboys Stadium. Went this year and watched Bama destroy Michigan. Will go back in 2015. I just wish Bama could play a team that would be a challenge instead of another Big 10 cupcake blowout.

Man am I stoked. Can’t wait for game to happen. But being realistic, knowing we’ve got new coach coming on board, patience is in order. This will be perfect–the timing, the motivational factor, the time to get everything in order. I’m marking it down now–2015–the year we destroy Bama to begin with and somebody else at the end in the Championship Game. Badgers #1 in 2015.

Please tell me our new Coach Andersen was a player in this. Think he’s more than agreeable to it. Some positive vibs are emanating.

Alvarez you sly dog, you. Micromanage Bielema to the Ozarks, get someone in there with smarts and ingenuity for job, and then schedule Bama for start of season game. Got to hand it to you!

Wanta talk trash with the SEC. This will not be another Michigan to fold, spindle or mutilate. This will be pure beef, raised in the ruralness of the country that will be coming at you, intent on plowing you into the ground. Wisconsin just played Stanford- the 6th rated team- even up( and were they to play again it would be toss up) and this was without their starting QB. That’s Stave, he’ll be junior in ’15′, and quite likely an All American. Good luck to y’all.

  • L. Dickson

Actually many say Stanford got ‘jobbed’ against ND and should have won. Had they, they’d been the ones in the game. A point to ponder SEC.

To think I used to root for the Tide, above the Mason-Dixon, back in the days of the Snake. Got over it, Stabler was unique and that probably accounts for it, now I’m full boar ‘Badger’. We’re going to get you guys, clean and legal, but mop up duties will still be required.

Unlike the Meathead who bolted to Arkansas, UW actually has a coach now.
