At one point during the season Oregon and Kansas State were set to play each other in the National Championship, until they both fell on the same night. Now the Wildcats and Ducks are set to face each other in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Oregon has to be aware of Kansas State’s powerful quarterback Collin Klein. Klein had an impressive season this year, making him a candidate for the Heisman trophy. Klein had a 66.2% completion rate, 2490 yards, 15 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

Oregon overall looks to have the edge, a 7.5 point favorite. Kansas State will need to contain Oregon’s always powerful running game, especially Kenjon Barner, who averages 6.5 yards per run. In his 248 carries this season, he rushed for 1624 yards and 21 touchdowns.

In order to be successful, both offenses need to protect the ball. Oregon has a nation high 39 forced turnovers to Kansas State’s 31. For the Ducks to win, they need to run on the Wildcat’s defense. However, if Collin Klein comes out and plays his best, the Wildcats will be successful. It is sure to be another exciting, high-scoring Fiesta Bowl.
