It appears that Chip Kelly has coached his last game with the Oregon Ducks and the NFL fans in Cleveland are about to get a lot happier.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that Kelly is close to a deal that will name him the next head coach of the Cleveland Browns

We all knew Kelly had an up-tempo offense, but we could have never imagined his decisions could move just as fast.

Cleveland named Kelly their top target early in the coaching search and it has to have the organization thrilled to secure their number one guy. The offense in Cleveland is about to get a facelift.

One thing that Kelly’s decision to join Cleveland brings up is the future of Brandon Weeden with the Browns. If there is one thing we have learned when watching Kelly’s offense on the field it is that Weeden is not the type of quarterback Kelly needs for his offense to succeed — perhaps he’d have better luck with Josh Cribbs.

Kelly has been the most talked about head coaching candidate and it looks like teams hoping to have a crack at Kelly will have to turn their attention elsewhere.
