Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Tyler Bray has officially declared for the NFL Draft and he’s officially got an agent. Bray’s father announced on a Knoxville radio station that his son has signed with NFL agent Don Yee. If there was any hope by Vols fans that Bray might come back, those dreams were dashed with news he had signed with Yee.
With his draft declaration, Bray becomes the first –and as it stands now– the only underclassman quarterback to have declared for the NFL Draft at this point. We’re still 11 days away from the deadline for underclassman to declare for the draft, but right now Bray’s the only one to be swimming with the big boys like Matt Barkley, Geno Smith and Landry Jones.
Bray joins two of his receivers as Vols to declare for the 2013 Draft. Both Cordarrelle Patterson and Justin Hunter have entered the draft with both getting first round projections, depending on who you talk to.
As it stands now, Bray is hearing projections that he’ll go anywhere between the second and third round. He’s not on either Mel Kiper Jr., or Todd McShay’s big board, but with a wobbly quarterback class and the combine ahead of him, a lot can happen to Bray’s draft status between now and this upcoming April.
