Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will be headed to Birmingham for more tests from Dr. James Andrews on his injured right knee. Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan met with the media on Monday to pass along the news and said the team does not yet know the full extent of Griffin’s injury.

Andrews wants to take a closer look at Griffin’s knee and determine what damage is old and which damage was suffered on Sunday afternoon against the Seahawks.

While there is no confirmed report on the extent of Griffin’s injury, the Redskins are bracing for the worst.

At this point, it appears that Griffin will be forced to miss part of the team’s offseason workouts, but hey, that didn’t work out too bad for Adrian Peterson this past season. Hopefully Griffin can have the same kind of recovery.
