Up Close Look At Kent State's Bizarre Helmets From Bowl (Photo)

The Kent State Golden Flashes played in their first bowl game in forty years on Sunday night when they took on Arkansas State at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Aabama for the Bowl. While Kent State was not victorious, they are still the talk of the media thanks to their bizarre helmets for the game.

Kent State placed “eagle eyes” on the front of the helmet. At first glance, the eyes looked more like eyebrows. Other than the eyes, the only other mark on the helmets were a blue “K” directly on the back of their domes.

Here is a look at the front of the Kent State Bowl helmets from the Associated Press:

At first glance, the creepy eyes stick out. My second thought when seeing this picture was, “Is this kid an Ohio State transfer? That is some serious ink.”

Here is a screenshot of the back of the helmet:

I applaud Kent State for trying a unique approach, but it’s not exactly a good look.
