Duke Blue Devils forward Ryan Kelly is expected to be sidelined for at least two weeks after suffering a foot injury during the team’s win on Tuesday night, according to the university.
“He’s going to be out an extended period of time,” a source told Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports. “It’s not broken. He just re-aggravated a previous injury. Hoping its just a couple weeks.”
Last season, Kelly missed two months with a foot injury.
According to Goodman’s report, the Blue Devils are optimistic Kelly could miss as little as two weeks, but there is belief that he could be sidelined for up to a month.
Kelly would be a big loss for the No. 1 ranked Blue Devils. He is currently second on the team in points and rebounds with 13.4 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. He has been a big part of Duke’s undefeated start to the season. A few days before his injury, Kelly was named the ACC Player of the Week.
