The Oklahoma Sooners received some surprising news late on Wednesday when linebacker Tom Wort informed the university that he would be entering the 2013 NFL Draft. It was previously believed that Wort was looking for potential transfer options, but he ultimately chose a chase for his professional dreams.

“We wish Tom the very best as he concludes his time at the University of Oklahoma,” Sooners head coach Bob Stoops said in a statement. “Tom has earned his degree and has informed me that he plans to declare for the NFL Draft.”

Wort is the third member of the Sooners team to declare for this year’s draft joining defensive back Tony Jefferson and wide receiver Kenny Stills.
