It appears that Inter Milan has reached an agreement on a transfer deal with Turkish club Galatasaray, per multiple reports. While Saturday’s reports appeared to make the news all but official, Gala has made it clear that a deal is in place for the 28-year-old Dutch midfielder, but terms are not yet finalized.
“The transfer of Wesley Sneijder has been agreed between Inter and the club and negotiations are ongoing with the player,” Gala said in a statement. “The talks started (on Thursday) and (Friday) a delegation from the club arrived to meet him. Now the decision lies with him. Anything is possible in football and Turkey is fast becoming a hot destination.
“If everything goes to plan the deal will go through. We will wake up tomorrow and everything will be more clear.”
Reports indicate that the framework of the transfer deal could be worth £1o million — or $13.3 million. There are other numbers that come in the range of £8.2million. Galatasaray is currently on a three-week break and would love to add Sneijder to the roster when they return to action.
While a deal appears to be to be coming to fruition, Liverpool has made a late bid and hopes to play spoiler to the Turkish clubs plans.
Sneijder is holding off on the deal because he would prefer to play in England and it looks like Liverpool could give him that shot. Per the Sunday People, Liverpool has a good chance to pull off he late steal.
The Dutchman has fallen out of favor with Inter Milan management and will certainly be on the move. It is just a matter of whether he will play in Turkey or England.
