New York Mets Showing 'Strong Interest' in Brian Wilson

Relief pitcher Brian Wilson held a private workout on Saturday and he is beginning to generate some buzz among MLB teams. It is being reported that around ten clubs are interested in the San Francisco Giants closer. While there is some demand for Wilson, one team is reportedly more interested than the others.

Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the New York Mets are showing “strong interest” in Wilson.

Wilson should be cleared to throw from the mound soon and that would be the final straw for those teams interested in his services. If Wilson were to land with the Giants, he would take over the Mets closer role, while Frank Francisco moved to a set up role.
