Barcelona Transfer News: David Villa Not Going Anywhere

FC Barcelona striker David Villa has not seen much playing time for the club thanks to some lingering issues from his serious leg injury. To complicate matters for David Villa, he suffered another leg injury last Thursday and was forced out of Sunday’s match.

Because of the lack of playing time, David Villa has been linked to various transfer rumors.

One of the main clubs David Villa has been linked to is Arsenal, but Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova said that the 31-year-old Spanish international will not be going anywhere.

“David is not going to leave. We are very happy with him,” Vilanova said, per Sky Sports.

“The other day he scored two goals. We’ve always said that he’s coming off a long injury, and he’s getting more minutes all the time. But he’s suffering more physical problems again.

“We know how important he is, like last year when we missed him a lot in the second half of the season. I’m convinced he will help us a lot over the remainder of the season.”

Barcelona is on the right track in La Liga play and they have no need to move the forward. If David Villa can get to 100 percent, he has shown that he will be a valuable offensive threat for Barcelona moving forward. Sorry, Arsenal fans, you’ll have to keep pushing forward without David Villa on the roster.
