NCAA Basketball Rankings 2013: Louisville Cardinals New No. 1 in AP Top 25 Poll


The Louisville Cardinals have won ten games in a row, advancing to 15-1, and have earned the No. 1 spot in the most recent AP Top 25 Poll thanks to losses from Duke and Michigan. In last week’s poll, Louisville was ranked the No. 3 team in the nation. It is the first time the Cardinals have been the top-ranked team since the 2008-09 season.

It was a crowded field at the top, with five teams receiving first place votes.

Indiana jumped up three spots to No. 2, while Duke fell from the top spot to No. 3. Four new teams — Oregon, VCU, UCLA and Marquette – entered the poll on Monday.
