The record number of underclassmen forgoing their final years of eligibility to go pro continues to grow. The latest early entry is Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Cierre Wood, who announced his intentions to enter the 2013 NFL Draft today.
Wood was expected to enter the NFL Draft, so the news comes as no surprise.
In 2012, Wood rushed for 742 yards and four touchdowns while averaging an impressive 6.7 yards per carry. During his career at Notre Dame, he totaled 2,447 yards and 16 touchdowns.
The 6-foot, 215-pound recorded the 16th 1,000 yard rushing season in 2011. Wood is a well-rounded running back and could be a day two selection.
