Rajon Rondo was held out from playing in this afternoon’s match-up against Ray Allen and the Miami Heat as he underwent an MRI on his knee. While the initial report involved a hyperextended knee suffered on Friday against the Hawks, rumors started brewing on Twitter that it was a little bit more serious than that. Per Adrian Wojnarowski:
Sources close to Rajon Rondo tells Y! Sports that Celtics are still waiting on examination concerning a possible ACL injury.

Two Celtics sources tell Y! that team’s awaiting Rondo’s MRI results on injured knee. He’s currently at New England Baptist Hospital.

What looked like a pathetic rumour on Twitter seems to be gaining some legitimacy. Hopefully, the rumors are just that and Rondo makes a speedy recovery from his hyperextended knee injury. All in all, no one will know anything until the results of the MRI come back. Until then, there’s no point in deliberating or making any predictions.
