Ray Lewis Denies Using Banned Substance

Reports surfaced before Super Bowl XLVII Media Day at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome that Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis may have used a banned substance to recover from his torn triceps.
Lewis used a deer antler spray that contains IGF-1, which is banned by the NFL.
During media day, any question is fair game and you knew that some reporter would come at Lewis for his comments on the report. When he was asked about Sports Illustrated’s report, Lewis manned up and gave the media an answer … sort of.

“Two years ago that was the same report,” Lewis told reporters. “I wouldn’t give that report or him any of my press. He’s not worthy of that.
“There’s never been a question if I’ve ever even thought about using anything. So to even entertain stupidity like that… tell him to get his story off somebody else.”
Lewis had it tougher than any of the other athletes on the podium at media day with questions about the deer antler spray and his previous murder trial. Lewis handled himself well and did his best to address the sticky situations while keeping the main focus on his teammates, god, the final game of his NFL career and hoisting the Lombardi Trophy for the second time in his career.
