Super Bowl: Ravens Fan Tricks 49ers Fan into Giving Them $5,900 for Phony Super Bowl Tickets

Football fans are always finding new and interesting ways to burn one another, but one Ravens fan absolutely takes the cake when it comes to the worst ways a fellow fan has been burned. Sharon Osgood, a 49ers fan from California, was searching for tickets to go see her favorite team play in the biggest game of her life. Not since the 90s had Sharon been able to feel what she and other 49ers fans are feeling, and this time she decided to go all the way.

When she found four tickets for $5,900 (more than twice the face value), she instantly made the decision she was going to buy the tickets. Osgood was in contact with the seller for more than a week discussing the deal since if you’re going to fork over nearly $6,000 to somebody, you’re going to want to get to know them a little.

But Sharon forgot one massive detail about the seller, they a were Baltimore Ravens fan.

Sharon wired the money to the seller’s credit union and anxiously awaited her prized package in the mail. When it arrived via FedEx, she tore it open but what she found weren’t Super Bowl tickets but rather a Xeroxed note mocking her for ever trying to get tickets from an opposing fan.

To quote the great Michael Kelso: BURN!

Osgood told her story to the San Jose Mercury  News:

"“On Monday, the highly anticipated package arrived—by FedEx.Instead of Super Bowl tickets, inside was a picture of quarterbacks Colin Kaepernick and Joe Flacco with a message underneath that read: “Enjoy the game!!!! Go Ravens!!! LOL.”[…]The scam artist told the couple he was a corporate tax attorney living in Boca Raton, Fla., and his wife was eight months pregnant, which was why they couldn’t go to the game themselves.“For a week I was on the phone with this guy,” Osgood said. “That’s the only reason why we” trusted him."

But the story actually does get better for Osgood. Someone at Ticketmaster actually has a soul and took pity on Osgood, giving her six free tickets to the game and a free breakfast with Troy Aikman. Hopefully we’re not the ones getting scammed her by a con artist who wanted free tickets and played us for fools. But since there isn’t a fake dead girlfriend involved here, we’re going to assume Osgood came out on top of her scammer in this one.
