UFC 156 Results: Antonio Silva Knocks Out Alistair Overeem

In a UFC heavyweight showdown between Alistair Overeem and Antonio Silva, ” Bigfoot” shocked the world and knocked out the former K-1 champ.

Overeem was a big favorite among mixed martial arts fans, but his confidence ended up costing him as Silva was able to score the knockout victory late in the fight. Silva was able to finish Overeem just twenty five seconds in to the third and final round.

Overeem was considered to be a title contender, but Silva put an end to that and made his mark on the UFC’s heavyweight division.

With the finish, Silva established himself as a real force in the UFC heavyweight division and made a major statement that everyone heard. Silva will now face another top tier heavyweight in his next UFC bout.

Overeem was expected by many to jump in to the title picture, but Bigfoot had different plans.
