If you thought we were in for a defensive battle tonight, boy that prediction if off to a rough start. After a failed first drive by the Niners, the Baltimore Ravens marched down the field with laser precision  and got on the board first in Super Bowl XLVII.

Joe Flacco has taken his fair share of flack for not being an elite quarterback but he sliced through the 49ers defense on his first ever Super Bowl drive and made scoring look easy. The Ravens got a lucky break with a defensive penalty, but to give credit to the Ravens first score to anyone other than Joe Flacco would be a travesty.

We all figured wer would be in for an offensive battle in this Super Bowl and so far the offenses seem to be working fast and efficiently. The 49ers are going hard and deep with their passes and may have scored on their first drive if it had not been for a penalty on the very first play of the game that negated a great pass form Colin Kaepernick.

This game is moving at a lightning fast pace and while the Ravens and Anquan Boldin scored first, it took almost no time for the 49ers to get on the board themselves.

Right after the Ravens scored, the Niners marched down the field and answered back with a score of their own, albeit only a field goal. The Ravens defense looks way to slow to keep up with this high flying Niners offense, however when it came to stopping the Niners in the redzone, the Ravens sacked Kaepernick on a big third down to hold them to just a field goal.

Either these defenses are saving their gas for the second half of the game or this score is going to get out of control very quickly.
