Courtney Upshaw has had one heck of a ride in the past 13 months. In the past two years, Upshaw has played in a championship game at the Superdome and has come out victorious on both occasions.

On January 9, 2012 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Upshaw suited up for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the BCS National Championship game. Upshaw and the Crimson Tide rolled past the LSU Tigers in the game to hoist The Coaches Trophy at midfield.

After the national championship, Upshaw began his draft journey.

He impressed at the NFL Scouting Combine and ultimately was selected with the 35th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. It was there that Upshaw started his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens.

Fast-forward a few months later and Upshaw was once again entering the Superdome for a championship game. This time, it was for the Lombardi Trophy.

The Ravens held off the San Francisco 49ers to give Upshaw his second championship in two years at he same venue. He recorded four tackles, an assist and a forced fumble in the game.

It’s been a magical ride for Upshaw, but he is not looking to stop just yet.

“It’s the NFL,” he said after the Super Bowl. “We want to get back to it next year.”

Congratulations to Upshaw and the Ravens on a great season.
