Five-star defensive end Carl Lawson out of Milton High School will not wait until National Signing Day to make his commitment. Lawson announced over the weekend that he would be keeping his word and signing with the Auburn Tigers.
The Alpharetta, Georgia native was on an official visit with Auburn over the weekend.
Lawson originally committed to Auburn in March of last year and has never wavered from his decision. The Tennessee Vols and Clemson Tigers made late pushes, but Lawson stuck to his guns. Even the firing of former head coach Gene Chizik couldn’t get Lawson to switch his commitment.
The star defensive end was joined by his high school teammate Peyton Barber on his visit over the weekend and Barber decided to flip from his commitment with Ole Miss to join the Tigers 2013 recruiting class.
With the signing of Lawson, Auburn is poised for a strong finish on Wednesday.
