Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby had his night ended early in the second period of Tuesday night’s game against the New York Islanders. Crosby was working on positioning himself to receive a pass, when the puck was deflected and cracked him right in the face.

Crosby crumbled to the ground and immediately covered his face with his gloves, but there was blood visibly leaking on to the ice.

Once the Pens captain was able to regain his composure, he skated right back to the locker room with a towel covering his face. To add insult to injury, the Islanders fans cheered when Crosby fell to the ice and decided it would be a good idea to chant, “Crosby sucks.”

You never like to see a player get injured and it is a bad look for a fan base when they cheer on an injury.

Here is video of Crosby taking the puck to his face:

How do you feel about fan bases cheering on their opponents players injuries? Not only does it prove the fans are classless, it is an embarrassment to the franchise.
