The consensus number one high school recruit in the nation has finally made his announcement official. Defensive end Robert Nkemdiche announced Wednesday morning that he will be signing with the Ole Miss Rebels.

Nkemdiche had narrowed his final list of schools down to Ole Miss, LSU and Florida.

While the Rebels were considered the favorites,  LSU come on strong with a late push when Nkemdiche was enjoying his official visit in Baton Rouge. He enjoyed his time at LSU, but they couldn’t do enough to sway him from Oxford.

Nkemdiche will join his brother, Denzel, on the Rebels defense. The five-star recruit originally committed to Clemson, but decommitted because of his mothers wish for her sons to play college ball together.

It is a great start for Hugh Freeze and the Ole Miss on a National Signing Day that is expected to keep getting better.
