Former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron was fired by the team late in the season, but there is a strong possibility that he could return to coaching before next season starts. This time, however, Cameron would be joining the college coaching ranks.
It is being reported that Cameron has been offered the offensive coordinator position with the LSU Tigers. Per Pete Rousse of CoachingSearch.com:
A lot of coaches wonder if the speculation about Cam Cameron joining the LSU staff as offensive coordinator is legit. From what I here, it is. A source tells me Cameron has been offered the job, in which case Steve Kragthorpe would move to an off-the-field position on the staff. Greg Studrawa would drop the offensive coordinator title and remain the offensive line coach.
Cameron was the offensive coordinator in Baltimore since 2008. Prior to joining the Ravens, he was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins for one season. Ironically, Cameron’s only win as Dolphins head coach came against the Ravens. He has previous college coaching experience with the Indiana Hoosiers and Michigan Wolverines.
It will be interesting to see if Cameron to LSU gains any more steam and if a move to Baton Rouge could be in the works. If the move does happen, the Tigers would be adding another bright mind to the coaching staff.
