Yes that guy, Rudy Gay does it again. Gay knocked the game winner for the Raptors, however this time it was in Toronto. If you look at both cases, Gay dribbles the ball hard to the net, pulls up and gets a clean look. This time however, he had a hard defender in his way, Nuggets’, Corey Brewer.
With 17 seconds in the fourth quarter, Alan Anderson in bounds the ball to Gay. The Raptors down 107-108 won at the Air Canada Centre. I think its it fair to say that teams should double-team Gay if he gets the ball with seconds remaining.
According to the Associated Press, Raptors head coach, Dwane Casey, applauded Gay and his outstanding performance.
“He’s a big time player,” Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. “He’s a closer.”
Gay finished with 19 points in that game, shooting 6-of-14 from the field. Although he didn’t have the best performance in the first and early second half, he clearly won the Raptors the game down the stretch. We’ll probably see more game winners by Rudy Gay in the near future.
