Cris Cyborg Signs With Invicta Fights; Will Fight Ediane Gomes at Invicta FC 5

Shannon Knapp and Invicta Fights have snagged another superstar from the women’s mixed martial arts world for their promotion. Knapp was able to sign former Strikeforce women’s champion Cris Cyborg, who was recently released from the UFC after refusing to drop to 135-pounds to fight UFC women’s champ Ronda Rousey.

It didn’t take Cyborg long on the free agent market to find a new home and she has even signed up for her next bout.

Cyborg will be facing American Top Team’s Ediane Gomes at Invicta 5 for her promotional debut. Gomes, 10-2, has not lost since March of 2011 when she faced the previously mentioned Rousey.

The winner of Cyborg vs. Gomes is expected to face Marloes Coenen at Invicta 6.

How will she fair against Cyborg, who has been one of the most dominant women in the sport? Sound off in the comments section and let us know who you think will win Cyborg’s Invicta debut.
