How can you make something like this appear any more incidental?

Cooke should have really been held accountable here. It sort of looked like he made it appear incidental, but there's really no good reason to raise your skate like that against the boards. Cooke's history with Karlsson speaks for itself and I agree, the NHL dropped the ball here.

Agree with you, and there is history with Cooke taking Karlsson out in a prior meeting. Cooke's dirty tactics are all his own. Accidental perhaps 1% of 1%, intentional 75-80% when you know what you're doing.

I watched the play live on TV and watched all the many replays. I can't see any intentional attempt to injure. It was a hard hit and well played hockey play. I am sure if it was a player on my favorite team I would feel different. Cooke is a hard player who has cleaned up his act quite a bit this year. Time will tell if he has cleaned it up enough.

Hi Matt. It was a freak play.

What's the likelihood that Cooke intended on jamming his blade into Karlsson's skate? Even if you tried to do that, the likelihood of that succeeding is probably less than 1 percent of 1 percent.
