As the “Harlem Shake” dance craze continues it’s viral popularity, we are becoming to see it become a common occurrence during sporting events.
For those who are unfamiliar with the “Harlem Shake,” — first of all, you are lucky — the dance starts with one person generally in a mask dancing around like a fool while the rest of the people in the background are going about their business and ignoring the masked dancer. Once the base drops in the increasingly irritating song, all of the people join in the dance and act a fool — mostly in costume.
One of the events that was not able to avoid the Harlem Shake was the Toyota Center in Houston during the 2013 NBA All-Star Game.
During a TV timeout, the PA system started blaring and the jumbotron showed the Houston Rockets mascot dancing in the crowd. As it always happens, the bass dropped and the crowd went wild with dancers shaking it out on the court.
