The Trailblazers are reportedly using their trade exception to acquire Maynor’s salary and will be sending picks back to Oklahoma City in exchange for the guard. Portland was rumored to be working out a trade but the thought was that J.J. Hickson was the name involved. They may have been true but the only trade that ended up sticking was the one involving Maynor.
It’s not a trade that sets the world on fire but it is one that makes an already solid Blazers team even better, adding depth at the point and a veteran to play with rookie sensation Damian Lillard.
The Thunder will be getting picks back from Portland and those could be used in a trade down the road. Oklahoma City was rumored to be shopping Kendrick Perkins but as was the case with most rumors, it went nowhere.
