The 2013 Oscars paid tribute to 50 years of James Bond on Sunday night with an incredible video that highlighted some of the greatest Bond moments.

If the video tribute wasn’t enough, the Oscars brought out Dame Shirley Bassey to show off her pipes. Former Bond girl Halle Berry introduced the tribute.

“We are very happy to include a special sequence on our show saluting the Bond films on their 50th birthday,” Oscars producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron had previously said in a statement. “Starting with ‘Dr. No’ back in 1962, the 007 movies have become the longest-running motion picture franchise in history and a beloved global phenomenon.”

Initial speculation was that the Oscars tribute would include past James Bond actors from Daniel Craig to original 007 Sean Connery, but that was not the case.

Despite the lack of actors on stage, it was still an incredible tribute that stole the show early and we are very grateful that the rumors of Bassey taking the stage with Adele did not come to fruition.
