Samsung to Launch Galaxy S4 on March 14

Samsung Electronics has confirmed that they will be launching their newest smart phone — the Galaxy S4 — at an event in New York next month. Samsung is expected to start delivering invitations to the March 14 “Samsung Unpacked” event today.

“We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York) … as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country,” Samsung mobile division chief JK Shin said.

The previous version of the phone, the Samsung Galaxy S3, was a major hit and became a rival to Apple’s iPhone. The phone’s larger than life display and increased battery life allowed users to have benefits that they desired from the Apple product.

Samsung sold over 40 million S3 units since their May 2012 launch.

The company is expected to improve on those key selling points with their new device, that could reportedly include Samsung’s new Know security software.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to have a higher resolution screen, improved camera and a quad-core processor.

Additional rumored features include an eight-core Exynos processor, a separate eight-core graphics processing unit, a 4.99-inch SuperAmoled display, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video capability, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and the latest version of Android, known as 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, per CNET.

This sounds like a really good phone. I just hope samsung is not adopting the Iphone tricks of advertisement, where the announce a new product that does a little bet more then the old one. Make it newer and better no holding back, that what we true Samsung galaxy fans love about galaxy.

I’ll be tuning in on March 14th to see what new features Samsung puts into their Galaxy SIV. I really hope the rumor of a 1080p display is true. I’d really like to have a device with a full HD display to watch my live and recorded shows on while I’m on my way to work at DISH. The DISH Anywhere app lets me stream my shows everywhere I go, so I think it would work great on a new Galaxy.
