NFL Draft: Keenan Allen Will Hold Pro Day on April 9th

Cal wide receiver Keenan Allen, who is projected to be a top prospect in the NFL Draft this April, missed the combine this weekend due to a sprained ligament in his knee but that’s not stopping him from eventually showing off his skills t0 draft stock at some point before the draft. According to Adam Schefter, Allen is set to hold a Pro Day on April 9th where he’ll perform for NFL scouts in an effort to solidify his first round status.

Due to missing all the workouts at the combine, Allen’s mouth did all the talking for scouts in attendance and he was reportedly “grilled” by the San Francisco 49ers this weekend.

“The 49ers grilled me really hard on it,” said Allen. “The coach [49ers receivers coach John Morton] was real strict and detailed, so I liked that a lot.”

The Minnesota Vikings have been eyeing Allen but he’s expected to go before they go on the clock at 23rd overall in the first round. Many mock drafts have Allen going to the Miami Dolphins at 12th overall but due to his knee injury Allen’s status may slip a little bit. All of that could still change between now and the draft but we won’t totally find out until Allen actually works out for scouts.
