Hector Lombard Wants to Fight Michael Bisping Next

UFC middleweight Hector Lombard is set to face off against Yushin Okami at UFC on FUEL TV 8 later this evening at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. Lombard, the No. 8 ranked 185-pounder on the organization’s roster, has a tough fight ahead of him, but he is already making plans for his next opponent.

Leading up to his Okami bout, Lombard specifically called out No. 3 ranked Michael Bisping if he is successful in tonight’s outing.

I want to fight Bisping badly, 100 percent I do. That is the guy I want if I beat Okami.”

“I’d fight him yesterday, today, it doesn’t matter. I want to fight him. I don’t believe he should be where he is in the division. Look at his record, who did he beat ? He wins decisions, but against who ? He gets beat when he fights top opponents. He gets decidedly beat, no decisions, he gets beat by KO.”

Bisping is currently set to face off against Alan Belcher at UFC 159 in New Jersey in April. That would push any potential meeting between the two middleweights back to late summer.

“I don’t worry about the rankings, I focus on myself,” said Lombard. “I’m not a cry baby like Bisping, I’m a man. It’s one fight at a time, get this win and go from there. That is what I have to do. I don’t need to bitch about rankings and people and fighters and bullcrap. I don’t need to do the other stuff, that’s not me. Bisping is a guy who is a f——- crybaby and no big wins.”

If Lombard wants to work his way up the 185-pound latter, a win over a name like Bisping would work wonders and present an incredible matchup for the fans.

But first, Lombard must get by Okami if he wants to see him dream bout come to fruition.
