Despite having ten interceptions over the past four seasons, the Chicago Bears have informed cornerback D.J. Moore that they will be heading into a new direction this offseason and that he is not in the team’s future plans.
Of course, this means that the Bears will choose not to re-sign Moore heading into free agency and he will hit the open market.
Per Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune, “Bears officially inform D.J Moore he is no longer in the team’s plans. Might be the start of other roster changes. Moore set to become free agent on March 12. A playmaker who should catch on elsewhere.”
It hurts Moore that he is entering free agency in a year with a lot of intriguing defensive back prospects in the incoming draft class, but he should still be able to generate interest on the market at just 25-years-old.
