Australian heavyweight Soa “The Hulk” Palelei has signed a four-fight teal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. It will be his second stint in the organization.
“I’m thankful to Dana White and Joe Silva for giving me this opportunity to come back to the UFC to showcase my skills,” Palelei said in a press release. “With determination, hard work and a great team, I’m happy to say that today I have signed with the UFC. I look forward to competing in the best organization in the world.”
Palelei last fought in the UFC back in 2007 when he lost to Eddie Sanchez. He was released from the organization and will finally return to the organization nearly six years later.
Since leaving the UFC, Palelei has gone 10-1, with his only loss coming to Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix champion and undefeated fighter Daniel Cormier back in November of 2010. Palelei is has reeled off eight straight wins since his loss to Cormier. His most recent wins have come from MMA veteran Bob Sapp and former UFC co-headliner Sean McCorkle.
No return date or opponent has been announced at this time.
