Rangers’ Marc Staal Hit in Eye With Puck (Video)

New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal was part of a scary moment in the third period of the team’s 4-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night when he took a puck directly to his right eye.

When will these hockey players learn to wear visors?

Of course, you could also make the argument that the NHL should make players wear helmets with full facemasks like players wear at the collegiate level, but there would be people saying the helmets restrict the players vision and could take away from the quality of the game.

The argument will continue to go on for awhile, but that is a different topic for another day.

Here is the video of Staal’s scary incident:

There was no immediate word on Staal’s status, but we wish him the best and hope that he was able to avoid any serious damage to his eye.
