South Carolina Gamecocks defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is among the best defenders in all of college football and a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. In fact, Clowney is so good that many believe he could have entered the 2013 NFL Draft and been the first player selected.

Since coming out of high school, Clowney has been an athletic freak with a NFL ready body.

He has consistently dominated on the college level and continues to get better by the year. This year, Clowney should be considered a favorite to win the Heisman Trophy if he continues his production.

All eyes will be on Clowney throughout the year as NFL scouts continue to nitpick his film. One thing they may not have to question, however, is his speed.

According to ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi, Clowney participated in recent Winter workouts with the South Carolina football team and had an incredible performance. At 6-foot-5, 277-pounds, it is reported that Clowney ran a 4.5 second 40-yard dash.

Simply incredible.

There is little doubt that Clowney will continue to be in the spotlight with the national media while he blossoms as a football player. The potential for Clowney to be great is there and he keeps on impressing all of us. We should all be excited to witness Clowney put his skills on display for another season at the collegiate level before his likely bolt to the NFL.

Before we continue our days, let’s take a minute to remember this moment of Clowney’s greatness:

Hey Tahj, I hope you’ve been working on your speed.
