Miami Dolphins free agent cornerback Sean Smith is the top cornerback on the market and at just 25-years-old the 6-foot-3, 218-pound defensive back will be receiving a lot of offers.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter during an appearance on NFL32, it is believed that Smith could receive in the range of $7 to $7.5 million per year on the open market.

The price tag will be too steep for the Dolphins, but there will still be loads of interest.

A number of teams are already reported to have interest in the young corner.

Among the teams with interest in Smith’s services are the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars. It will be interesting to see which teams come calling when the clock strikes midnight on Friday and how aggressively the teams will approach the free agent corner.

I would love to see the Chiefs pick this guy up! Maybe that’s why Winston is gone, to make it easier on the Cap, so they could peruse him. It might not have charged the Cap much, but maybe enough to get this stud of a corner. We would have one of, if not the best, D backfield in the league!

You never know for sure what’s up a team’s sleeve, but that would be a great decision to bring him in. Best CB on the market, in my opinion, though Talib is a close second.

Smith would be a much better fit for the Chiefs scheme, though.
