It comes as no surprise, but St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson has officially voided the final year of his contract which will allow him to test the free agency market.

Jackson is expected to get some interest from around the league, but the Atlanta Falcons are believed to make Jackson a priority this offseason.

Last week, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution wrote:

"As far as outside free agents, it appears that Steven Jackson, who reportedly will void his contract with the Rams, will be the top target in light of the release of running back Michael Turner. The reason for his release was a failed physical, according to the NFL’s transactions list.Jackson could split duties with Jacquizz Rodgers, who had a strong second season. Jackson is an adept pass catcher out of the backfield and fits the scheme."

On top of losing Jackson, the Rams released offensive tackle Wayne Hunter. The two moves open up $11 million in cap space for St. Louis.
