With the Arizona Cardinals looking to add a quarterback in the offseason, there is some speculation of who the team could pursue.

One of the options that the Cardinals could look in to is Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer. Palmer is set to earn a base salary of $13 million in 2013, but there are talks that the Raiders could release the veteran signal-caller if he does not agree to take a pay cut.

If Palmer is released, the Cardinals are expected to make a move.

Per Pro Football Talk, there is speculation in league circles that the Cardinals are waiting for Palmer to be available.

If the Raiders choose not to release Palmer, there is always the option of a trade. Oakland gave up a first and second-round pick to bring Palmer to the Bay Area, so they could look for compensation if he leaves town.

With a limited free agent quarterback market, Palmer could be the Cardinals best option.
